Welcome to the Minnesota Center for Professional Development (MNCPD) Website!
Parents,
We encourage you to explore this site to learn about the many professional development resources available to your early childhood or school-age care provider. Professionals who work in the field of early childhood and school-age care are required to participate in training, conferences, or college courses to develop the skills and knowledge they need to provide quality care and education to the children and families they serve.
The MNCPD Registry offers providers a place to track and plan their professional development. When they join the Registry, providers are placed on a Career Lattice step, based on their training and education. They can use the Career Lattice as a guide to advance themselves in their careers. Providers can also search the MNCPD Registry for approved training events offered by qualified trainers. After they complete MNCPD approved training or college courses, providers earn Certificates of Achievement that recognize their commitment to on-going professional development.
Through the Registry, providers can print a Learning Record - which is similar to a resume - that lists their training, education, and work history. The Learning Record, along with Certificates of Achievement, can be used to highlight their accomplishments to employers, families, or licensors.
We provide these services to support a community of professionals who deserve recognition for the essential role they play in children's development. The care and education children receive is critical to their success in school and life. We know that you want the best care and education available for your child. By engaging in learning opportunities offered through the MNCPD Registry, your provider is better prepared to deliver the best care possible for your child.
