Child Care Resource & Referral Services (CCR&Rs)

Child Care Resource & Referral (CCR&R) programs across the state are responsible for four main functions:

  1. Supporting parental choice with information and education
  2. Compiling, analyzing and distributing data about child care supply and demand
  3. Expanding and strengthening the child care delivery system
  4. Building community through partnership, coordination and working together with other organizations.

CCR&R is contracted by the Minnesota Department of Human Services to provide training and educational opportunities that are anchored in Minnesota's Core Competencies for Early Childhood Education and School-Age Care Practitioners, and to provide practitioners with the knowledge and skills needed to ensure that all children and youth are ready for and succeed in school.

The Minnesota Child Care Resource and Referral Network is host to MNStreams.org.  MNStreams is designed to put trainings, educational opportunities, grants and financial incentives at your fingertips. A training registry with many additional features, the site offers searchable trainer listings; REETAIN and CCR&R grant applications, and conference details. The site will serve family child care providers, child care center staff, Head Start, school-age/out of school-time program staff, parent educators, parents, and all others interested in the health and development of children.

Other Resources available at the CCR&Rs:

T.E.A.C.H. - Early Childhood® MINNESOTA seeks to improve education and compensation for child care providers, while reducing turnover rates.
